Today, I will be sharing a great tip on how you can backup
and restore your blogger template.
Recommendation
As a blogger, it is very important that you backup your
blogger template because sometimes when working on your template you may
encounter any error which may affect your blog visibility on search engine and
as well as appearance. Backing up and restoring your template will easily allow
you to correct that.
Before working on any blogger blog template, it is important
that you backup your template.
There are two different ways to Backup and Restore a blogger
blog template:
- Full download Backup/Restore
- Code saving Backup/Restore
How to backup a Blogger blog by full download method
1, log in to your blogger dashboard
2, click on “Template”
3, then click on “Backup/Restore”
4, a page displays with two options, full download and
upload
5, a download request comes up, accept the request to start
your full template download.
How to restore a blogger blog template by full download
method
1, log in to your blogger dashboard
2, click on “template”
3, then click on “Backup/Restore”
4, click on upload to upload your downloaded template.
5, click on save, you have successfully uploaded your
template.
How to backup a blogger blog by coding method
1, log in to your
blogger dashboard
2, click on “template”
3, then “Edit html”
4, you will be taken to a page containing your blog template
html code, tick on “Expand template”
5, then click on the HTML code section, and on your
keyboard, type “Ctrl A” to highlight all the HTML code in the box and “Ctrl C”
to copy all
6, open your computer Notepad and paste the copied HTML
code.
7, save the code with any name relating to your blog.
8, the template and that’s all
How to Restore a blogger blog by coding method
1, On your computer, go to where you save your template in
Notepad,
2, open the Notepad,
3, Log in to your blogger dashboard
4, Select “Template”
5, click on “Edit HTML”
6, tick on “Expand template”
7, click on the box containing the html code and type “Ctrl
A” to highlight all and delete
8, go back to the opened Notepad containing the HTML code,
on your keyboard type “Ctrl A” to highlight all and “Ctrl C” to copy all.
9, go back to the deleted HTML box on your blogger
dashboard, click on it and on your keyboard type “Ctrl V” to paste the copied HTML code from Notepad to the HTML blogger box
10, save the HTML code and close the HTML section.
